Built in 1983 by Golden Pacific National Bank [taiwanese]. Bank went insolvent 2 years later after the Office of Comptroller of Currency discovered fraudulent activity involving certificates of deposits. Depositors lose $17million. claims of racism were leveled against the FDIC for not extending insurance coverage to certain accounts.
